In the year since Eidolon’s defeat, many strange and deadly creatures have stalked Thyrion’s shores. So that the reader might comprehend the might of Praevus’ army, I shall spare a few brief pages documenting the nature of these creatures.

Once a peaceful beast of burden, Praevus has used his dark magic to twist the Gyagk into a brutish creature with a nasty temperament. Inhabiting the icy domain of Tulku, he stalks the wintry landscape seeking to destroy all intruders. His massive, hulking stature and the thunderous pounding of his hooves are clear evidence of his strength and might. The Gyagk is capable of casting a freezing spray at its opponents inflicting them with numbing pain. Those who are overcome will soon find themselves staring through an icy glaze before they are shattered into pieces. In addition, a Gyagk will sometimes gather all his strength to charge at his foes; head down and icy nostrils flaring. |
The origin of the Pentacles is uncertain, although they seem to be somewhat tied to the element of earth. Their bodies are rather nondescript in form, resembling irregularities in the surface to which they are attached. Their primary weapon is surprise. Pentacles are able to remain attached to any surface as they patiently await the arrival of their prey. Only a slight pulsing as they "breathe" might give one some indication of their presence. Once a victim is in range, the pentacle attacks. His most common form of attack is to spit a toxic projectile manufactured through his elemental nature. A truly dedicated and enthusiastic Pentacle may choose to leap off a surface in a heroic (but suicidal) effort to destroy his victim by physical contact. |

The frozen wastelands of Tulku are home to a particularly deadly foe: the Snow Leopard. Brandishing serrated swords, Snow Leopards look like a combination of great cat and conventional footsoldier, but they are considerably more deadly than either. Snow Leopards are extremely adept with both sword and shield, hacking and slashing at medium range, and bashing with their shields when an opponent draws too close. Snow Leopards are also incredibly fast and agile. They are known to leap and dive at their foes, and roll nimbly from side to side in order to dodge attacks. Occasionally they use their great shields to reflect incoming projectiles, sometimes even turning these projectiles back upon their originator. |
