Hub 1 Questions

Q: The Mill Key isn't where you said it was in the walkthrough. What's up?

A: On the easiest difficulty setting, the Mill key will appear on the ground next to the Old Tower (Barbican level). On higher settings, you have to destroy the tower and take the teleporter.

Q: The diary and Treasury Key aren't where they're supposed to be! They appear in different places each time I play a game. This is due to what class or difficulty I'm playing on, right?

A: Wrong. Where the diary/note and the Treasury key appear have to do with how you walk round the tower at the beginning of the King's Court level. They can appear in 3 different places:

If you walk around the tower to the left, the diary will be in the stables. The key will be dug up in the lawn outside the forge.
If you walk around the tower to the right, but NOT toward the magical barrier, the diary (actually a note) will be in Anton's prison cell in the dungeons underneath the guillotine (Inner Courtyard level). Anton took the key to his grave, but you can dig it up outside the tombstone maker's shop nearby.
If you walk around the tower to the right, but DO walk toward the mystical barrier, the diary will appear in the butcher's basement, but only after you have dropped the guillotine blade in the Inner Courtyard. The key can be found in the Palace courtyard by the fountain.

Q: Oh, yeah? Well, I'm where you said to go and I still can't find the key.

A: You've got some attitude, buster.... Note that to dig up the key, no matter where it is, you must do two things:

Find and read the diary/note that tells you where it is
Possess the shovel

Q: The button next to the fireplace in the forge isn't there! What gives?

A: Did you approach the altar in the shrine of the Brotherhood of Hunger? You have to. Note that there seems to be a co-op multiplayer bug that makes this button sometimes not appear.

Q: I can't kill the crystal golem! I did everything, and even got the message that I have the power to kill him, but he's still immune to my attacks! AAARRRGHH!

A: Calm down. You must pick up the lens of Seeing after you make it at the grindstone. It can be hard to see, but it will appear to the left of the grindstone (in the unpatched version; in v1.11, it appears in the doorway leading to the grindstone). There's a bug/design flaw that allows you access to the crystal arch even if you don't have the Lens in your inventory. Go back to the grindstone, then go back through the arch, and try again.
